Governors have opposed the manner in which investigative agencies handle them whenever they face corruption-related charges.
In a statement through the Council of Governors (CoG) on Thursday, the county bosses accused investigation agencies of mishandling them during arrests.
They insisted that most of their cases are politically instigated, adding that their rights have been violated repeatedly by the authorities.
"CoG strongly opposes the manner in which the process has been handled and politicised by the agencies which violate Article 28 of the Constitution that guarantees every person the right to dignity, respect and protection of the same," CoG said.
"Governors have been mishandled in instances where they have allegations of corruption against them," added the statement.
President Uhuru Kenyatta recently said he will not spare people accused of plundering public resources. He insisted that he has cut links with such people.
Recently, it emerged that Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu was reportedly denied access to the president. A video making rounds on social media showed Waititu ejected from the VIP area during the Mashujaa Day celebrations in Mombasa.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) recently said that at least eight governors could be arrested soon over corruption. Samburu Governor Moses Kasaine is also among governors facing corruption charges.
