Kisii Central branch executive secretary of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Albert Ondimu has proposed that the qualifications of middle-class colleges should be lowered.

According to Ondimu the qualifications to university is a  C+ and there is a need for middle-class colleges to lower their entry grade to D+.

Addressing the press on Tuesday in Kisii town Ondimu appealed to middle-class colleges to lower their entry grades to help those who never managed to attain university qualifications

“We have seen how changes have been made in education sector those who attained C+ are given direct entry to university and I am proposing entry grades for middle-class colleges to be lowered to D+,” said Albert Ondimu.

Ondimu also urged parents with pupils who scores below 200 marks in standard 8 to take them to village polytechnics so they can train on different courses to prosper in their lives.
