President Kenyatta  has joined other leaders in eulogizing Rtd Judge Aganyanya following his demise. In his message of condolence, Uhuru said that the retired Judge was indeed an independent legal mind.

The head of state said that he learned about the demise of the retired judge with deep shock. He described him as a man who dedicated his effort and time to serve the nation at the Judiciary. 

The President noted that he was a firm believer in the rule of law and never engaged himself in corruption during his tenure in office.

“Retired Justice Aganyanya was an independent legal mind. He fearlessly defended the rule of law and believed in separation of powers especially the independence of the judiciary,” the Head of State wrote.

Uhuru said that the death is a big blow not only to the family but also the entire nation, adding that he will surely be missed for the good work he did before he met his death after suffering from breathing problems.

He added: “Justice Aganyanya will be remembered as an upright lawyer who stood for what is best for his country. And as a judge, he was noble and a role model who left an indelible mark in the Kenyan legal sector.”

 The head of state said that his prayers are with the family during this moment of trial following the demise of the retired judge.

“In this hour of mourning, may the Almighty God comfort and strengthen you. My prayers are with you,” the President said.
