Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has said that he is grateful to have lived up to his father’s expectations.
In an interview with KTN’s Point Blank on Wednesday, Mutula said that he has served the people of Makueni without fear or favour just like his father the late Mutula Kilonzo did before his demise.
He said that the people of his region have more reasons to stand with him if he decides to go for another seat in 2022.
The senator said that he will consider running for the governorship after the retirement of the incumbent county boss Kivutha Kibwana.
“I know my father is proud of me wherever he is. As to whether I am going to run for governor, I still haven’t made that decision, but if it occurs that I’m the one to lead the people of Makueni to the Promised Land, so be it, “he said.
On the matters of Ukambani politics, Kibwana said that he respects Governors Kibwana, Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Charity Ngilu of Kitui but dismissed claims that they can outsmart Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka in the race for power if they unite.
“With all due respect the likes of governor Alfred Mutua cannot challenge Kalonzo Musyoka in Ukambani, they are simply looking for something to do after the elections,” he said.
