Keiyo South MP Daniel Rono said President Kenyatta is keen to eliminate officials loyal to Deputy President William Ruto from government.

Mr Daniel Rono was categorical that the camp felt betrayed, saying “daggers have been drawn” as President Kenyatta seems “determined to remove all people allied to DP Ruto” from positions of leadership.

He accused opposition leader Raila Odinga of engineering the government reshuffles purportedly with an aim to sabotage Dr Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

“Raila is calling the shots at the moment, but time will tell,” said Mr Rono, referring to the ODM leader, who lately has become President Kenyatta’s bosom buddy in government since the famous handshake of March last year. “We are watching! Eventually Ruto will have the last laugh.”

At Kapseret on Wednesday, Sudi accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of incompetence, arguing that his administration has lost focus. He asked him to resign.

"Within three months I can do better than Uhuru. I will get a deputy like Moses Kuria and we will perform better", said Sudi.

According to him, inability by President Uhuru Kenyatta to call for a Jubilee Parliamentary Group meeting, is itself an indication of his unfortunate failures.

"Those are signs that the president is no longer able to lead and he should quit", said Sudi.

Uhuru replaced Rotich with Labour CS Ukur Yattani, who is believed to be allied to his camp. Dr Yattani is an experienced government mandarin having served also as MP and governor.

Rotich was arrested and charged over alleged embezzlement of Sh21 billion meant for construction of Kimwarer and Arror dams in Elgeyo-Marakwet County.
