Veteran opposition and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has lashed out at Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago.
Addressing a crowd at the Turkana Culture Festival on Friday, Mr Odinga rubbished claims by the county boss that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) team did not collect views from the people of Uasin Gishu.
The former prime minister said that the BBI team pitched camp in Eldoret and wondered where Governor Mandago had slept when the BBI team came to Uasin Gishu.
"Mandago is the governor of the county of Uasin Gishu, I do not know which side he is on. The BBI team was in Eldoret taking the views of the people yet they are saying they were not asked, I don't know where he slept that day (Bwana Mandago ni gavana wa kaunti ya Uasin Gishu sijui yeye ako pande gani? Na BBI ilikuwa Eldoret ikichukua maoni ya watu wanasema hawajaulizwa, sijui yeye alikuwa amelala wapi siku hiyo!' Raila said plunging the crowd into laughter.
Leaders from Uasin Gishu have claimed that they were never given an opportunity to share there views.
The BBI team finalised the collection of views in the capital Nairobi and are in the process of preparing a comprehensive report which will be submitted to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.
