Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has said he is not afraid of being imprisoned for championing the fight against corruption.
Joho asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure that his deputy, William Ruto, is probed over graft, before going after him.
Speaking during a fundraiser at Shika Adabu Primary School in Likoni on Saturday, Joho said jubilee will not use imprisonment to scare him into keeping quiet, as officials continue to loot what belongs to the public.
Joho said Ruto should be the first one to be investigated when it comes to matters corruption in the nation.
"We all know that Jubilee is the most corrupt government that has ever been in existence since independence and now President Uhuru Kenyatta is threatening to gag and arrest anyone criticising the government concerning graft. He should know that we are not afraid of prison and if it comes to that, Mr Ruto should be the first one to be investigated over graft," said Joho, as quoted by the Standard.
The outspoken governor also lashed out at Ruto for defending the Sh5 billion scandal at the Ministry of Health.
Joho and other leaders have accused the government for plundering public resources at the expense of the common mwananchi.
