Buema village in Kanduyi Constituency, Bungoma County, is in deep sorrow and agony after the unexpected death of MP Wafula Wamunyinyi's brother.
Citizen Digital report indicates Wafula Wamunyinyi's brother, Joseph Wamalwa Wekesa, was allegedly killed after he was stabbed several times.
It is alleged the deceased was stabbed on the chest by his nephew, a 30-year-old Nicholas Simiyu Wafula.
The suspect used a kitchen knife to attack the deceased over what was claimed to be a disagreement between the two.
Bungoma South OCS George Odongo told Citizen Digital that issues ensured between the two when they were in a burial arrangement meeting of one of their relative.
“They were preparing for a memorial anniversary for the Mathew Austin Wafula Wamunyinyi, which was to take place to at Buema Village, Tuuti Sub Location before a fight ensued,” said Odongo as quoted Citizen Digital.
The deceased is said to have injured the nephew on his head and hand during the fight before he rushed to the kitchen where he picked a knife and went after the deceased who had then gone to his house.
He stabbed him several times.
He also killed the deceased's two dogs.
After the incident, Wekesa was rushed to Bungoma West Hospital where he succumbed to injuries on Friday morning.
His body was taken to Life Care Hospital mortuary while the suspect is in stable condition at Dawameds Hospital.
