Veteran politician Koigi Wamwere now claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta has politically divorced Deputy President William Ruto.
Sharing his thoughts on the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) debate on Tuesday, Wamwere noted that it is dividing Kenyans.
According to Wamwere, Uhuru, Raila Odinga and Ruto are putting their interests first.
"As a result of his divorce of Ruto, Uhuru should dissolve the government and call for fresh elections to get a fresh mandate to run the government or give a new team mandate to form another government. This is what all democratic governments do when in crisis as Kenya is in today," Wamwere noted in a Facebook post.
Further, he claimed Uhuru and his allies are pushing Ruto to the wall in a trial to end his possibility of becoming president in 2022.
Wamwere stated that there is a lot of resistance on BBI contrary to Ruto's claims that everyone supports it.
"Considering BBI as a panacea for problems it does not address is to not only accept failure but also deny Kenya an opportunity to ask new – not necessarily young – leadership to send corrupt business and dynasty leaders home and unleash a renaissance for rejuvenating the country. Why didn’t the spirit of BBI persuade Uhuru to invite Ruto to the cabinet reshuffle?" he asked.
