Mr  Nyamoko, an influential figure in the North Mugirango politics is believed to have been Nyagarama's point man from the region months after falling out with his deputy Amos Nyaribo who also hails from the vote-rich area.

A source who spoke on condition of anonymity to this writer on Wednesday said Mr Nyagarama was ‘shocked’ with the speaker’s decamping to Jubilee since he had planned to bank on him in the 2017 polls.

”The governor is unhappy with the speaker following his last minute move to Jubilee Alliance Party where he is expected to contest North Mugirango parliamentary seat,” said the source.

“He is shocked because Nyamoko was expected to be his point man from North Mugirango after falling out with his deputy. The governor needs the North Mugirango votes and Nyamoko was the right person to deliver them for him in 2017,” added the source.

The source also said the Governor was concerned with the speaker’s move given that he is likely to favour his opponents in the remaining period to the 2017 elections.

“The speaker is the head of assembly and the governor really needs some projects to be passed in the assembly. He fears that the speaker might sabotage some of his efforts given that he will be working with his rivals,” said the source.

Mr Nyamoko announced his move from KNC to JAP during the official launching of the JAP offices in Nyamira which were graced by aspiring governors on Jubilee ticket; Walter Nyambati and Charles Mochama.

The governor could not be reached for comment while Nyamoko said he has never been in ODM  but his working relationship with the county boss is cordial.

He was also quick to add that he has a right to support candidates and parties of his choice.
