The relationship between the President and his deputy seems to have hit an all-time low with the DP's political allies taking the head of state head-on for allegedly suppressing freedom of speech in the country.

However, according to Gem Member of Parliament Elisha Odhiambo, the DP and Tangatanga politicians should come clear on whether they support the Building Bridges Initiative report or not.

He said that BBI which is part of the peace deal between the President and ODM leader Raila Odinga has enhanced peace and development in the country.

While accusing the DP of sideshows in his position on BBI, Odhiambo asked the former Eldoret North MP to throw his weight behind the document and help the President in his development and unity agenda for the country.

" I want to ask the DP to support his boss on development," the lawmaker said as quoted by the Star.

The Gem lawmaker said that they cannot allow one person to hold 45 million Kenyans hostage, adding that the BBI report which the DP is allegedly against is meant to create an enabling environment to tackle the problem of unemployment in the country.
