The supremacy battles have seen Moi's aassociate and Tiaty MP William Kamket claim that DP William Ruto can be dethroned as Rift Valley's political kingpin.

“There is no leadership vacuum in the Rift Valley. Jubilee was founded on a peace pact between two communities; the Kikuyu and the Kalenjin. This was not about the DP as an individual. He can be replaced with another person from the Rift valley. Senator Moi can easily take up the mantle as the Rift Valley kingpin,” said Kamket.

DP Ruto has been robbed some local leaders by former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto-led Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) and Kenya African National Union (KANU).

Zedekiah Bundotich Kiprop alias Buzeki joined CCM while Elgeyo-Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos announced his decision to work with KANU after alleging that the DP disrespected him.

The sentiments come after DP Ruto, on Monday, weighed in the tussle by stating that some media houses are being used by his rivals to soil his reputation and status as President Uhuru Kenyatta's deputy.

“FAKE NEWS ALERT!!! I was nowhere near JKIA. I am not surprised that some media houses and their owners are this desperate. Tuwasamehe tu!!” read DP's tweet in response to a story published by the Standard newspaper where Senator Moi is a majority shareholder.
