Addressing the media in Eldoret, George Njoroge; the National IDP deputy coordinator, said the IDPs had written to the government severally, but no response has been made so far.

“We are giving the government 17 days to compensate or resettle the over 170,000 IDPs who the government has ignored them. Are we lesser Kenyans than the ones who are resettled?" he posed.

He said the IDPs come from 22 counties across the country, adding that if the government ignores them again they will 'old mother of all demonstrations'.

“If the time we have given will elapse without their response, we will hold a mother of all demonstrations until our problems are heard,” said Njoroge.

According to Njoroge,  IDPs who were given resettled in other lands are yet to be given tittle deeds.

He urged the IDPs to be careful, adding that some  people are walking in various camps claiming to be government officers, and requesting for money to facilitate their resettlement.
