The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has expressed confidence in securing the Kibra parliamentary seat in the November 7 by-election.
The party has since cleared Imran Okoth, brother to the former holder Ken Okoth, to go for the seat which is also being sought by many other candidates and parties.
Speaking to the Standard on Sunday, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna said the party has a properly laid out plan which it seeks to use to ensure it carries the day.
He said the plan includes going all out to secure the seat, and employing all the resources the party has at its disposal..
“We are not going to take chances. We must marshal strength, resources and energy to win and reclaim the Kibra Parliamentary seat,’’ Sifuna said.
Sifuna said during the campaigns, the party plans to ensure it addresses the actual issues affecting the lives of Kibra residents.
But it will have to deal with among others, the Jubilee party which has fronted soccer star McDonald Mariga and Amani National Congress (ANC) candidate Eliud Owalo.
With Mariga set to known his fate, on whether or not he will be allowed to vie, the ANC has equally vowed to shock the nation by wrestling the seat away from ODM.
"We want to take Kibra by storm,’’ said the party Secretary General Barrack Muluka.
