A top aide to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has welcomed the decision by a section of leaders allied to DP William Ruto to join BBI rallies.
Mr Silas Jakakimba, the private secretary to Mr Odinga, however, says the Tangatanga wing ought to desist from sabotaging President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to him, the team has been using Raila's persona to insult President Uhuru Kenyatta in their unprecedented attacks.
"TANGA Tanga can join BBI public barazas but they must know there's NO room whatsoever for incessant sabotage of The President @StateHouseKenya, insults against the person of @RailaOdinga. In deed, should there by an (mis)strategy to sabotage 'from within', it has collapsed flat," Jakakimbaa tweeted on Tuesday.
Led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, the team said it will be joining the BBI rallies from this weekend in Mombasa.
"After consultations as leaders... we will participate and, where necessary, take charge of these public rallies beginning with Mombasa this weekend," he said, as quoted by the Star.
Murkomen said the Tangatanga brigade will thereafter come up with a schedule for the rallies across the country.
"We are organising rallies in other parts of the country. We shall soon announce the calendar of complimentary rallies to reinforce those already published," he said
