The Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) taskforce has said that it's now ready to hand over its report to President Uhuru Kenyatta, after concluding its assignment.
The 14-member team was picked by Uhuru and ODM boss Raila Odinga to collect Kenyans' views on solutions of Kenya's recurrent problems and compile the same into a single document.
The taskforce on Wednesday held its final formal sitting, after which it said that it is ready to hand over the report, adding that it has notified the president of the same.
"The joint Secretaries have officially communicated to the office of the President that the Building Bridges Initiative report is ready for handing over to the President," it said.
The statement was signed by joint secretaries Paul Mwangi and Martin Kimani, a year and seven months after the formation and deployment of the taskforce.
The team also said that it has received a response from the president that he will avail himself to receive the document at the first available opportunity.
In the statement, the task force promised to hand over a balanced report of suggestions collected from Kenyans from all walks of life.
"Elected leaders including governors, deputy governors, Senators, MPs and MCAs were also given the opportunity to give their views," further reads the statement.
Uhuru is currently in Russia on official duty.
Initially, last week, there were claims that the team has proposed major constitutional changes, claims it has since come out to dismiss.
