The county boss has argued that the court violated the law during the delivering of the ruling on Tuesday. He argued that the court’s decision to stop him from accessing his office is not only unrealistic but also biased. Waititu has asked the court to reconsider the effects of stopping him from accessing his office.

Chief Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi has directed the governor released but warned him against stepping at the office.

The governor was arraigned in court alongside Zacharia Njenga Mbugua and Joyce Ngina Musyoka but was freed on Sh15 million cash bail or a bond of Sh30 million.

The court directed his wife Susan Wangari to deposit Sh4 million at the court, while the co-accused were freed at Sh.1million bond.

Through their lawyer, Tom Ojienda said that the bail terms are too tough. He asked the court to review the terms to allow the governor to discharge his duties with freedom. The application comes after his Deputy Governor James Nyoro assume office in an acting capacity.
