3,300 college and university students in Bobasi constituency on Friday received CDF bursary funds to help in settling fees balances in their various learning institutions.
Area MP Innocent Obiri speaking when he launched the issuance of the cheques to the students said all applicants who applied received the funds.
The lawmaker assured that CDF funds will not be misused or misappropriated as claimed by his political rivals.
“I am committed to ensure CDF funds are allocated to all students freely and fairly. Those claiming that CDF officials will divert the public funds to their own pockets are advised to focus on developing Bobasi constituency and not spreading propaganda and hatred,” said the legislator.
The MP said those students who missed to get the funds are those who failed to attach the required documents as they were asked by the CDF committee.
“The few students who missed to get the funds are those who didn’t attach the letters of admission from their institutions among other necessary documents as required. Next time we will give priority to those who missed this time round,” he said.
Meanwhile, Obiri said that he will allocate more funds to expand the construction of Nyamache hospital to improve service delivery to people of Bobasi.
