Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal has been denied access to his assets pending hearing and determination of a corruption case filed against him.
The county boss’ effort to sell, lease, develop and transfer his land in Karen, Nairobi has failed after the court issued the order burning him from the same.
The court has also restricted the governor from accessing or deposits funds into his two bank accounts at KCB Bank.
The governor has been put on Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) radar over the alleged acquisition of Ksh.80 million through fraudulent land deals.
He has also been accused of obtaining Ksh.84.7 million after he illegally supplied fuel to the county government through his firm, Oryx Service Station.
The incident reportedly took place between March 27, 2013 and March 25, 2019.
According to Lawyer Diana Kenduiwa told the court that the county boss and the fuel company are under scrutiny hence they cannot conduct transactions.
It emerged that Oryx is the main supplier of fuel to the county government of Samburu. The probe shows that the governor acquired the land using proceeds from corrupt deals.
The governor will have to wait longer for the case to be determined before he can proceed with the sale.
