Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s JKL Show,  Makau said that the second in command has opted for underhand tactics to remain relevant in the political scene.

He noted that Matua said that Ruto has lost hope and is now looking for different ways to remain popular in the political arena.

"Ruto has committed cardinal sin. This a kamikaze act; where an individual who has lost all hope and all the avenues to success have been closed takes a desperate act such as blowing themselves up, politically, and that is what this is #JKLive," he said.

The US-based lawyer also said that the second in command lacks what it takes to ascend to power.

He claimed Ruto has proven that he is corrupt, which makes it hard for him to become the President when Uhuru completes his second and final term in government.

Makau said that Ruto’s performance scoreboard is clear evidence that he will not offer good leadership if he is given the chance to become President when that time comes.

Makua also opposed the Members of Parliament’s push for allowances increment after they rooted to be paid to work at night.
