Speaking at the requiem mass of the late Joyce Laboso in Bomet, also attended by Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta, Ruto declared support for the Raila's truce with Uhuru in March 2018.

According to Manyora, this points at a man who has decided to join the team which he was initially opposed to, but most likely as a result of lack of another option.

Speaking on Saturday, he linked this to the ongoing offensive on forces allied to the DP, as has been claimed by politicians allied to him, led by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi who has said that Ruto allies are being targeted in the graft purge.

Manyora says that the DP has realized that he cannot match the power of Raila and Uhuru.

"There are political reasons. I think Ruto has finally come to see that power is not something to play with," he said on his Take It or Leave It political analysis channel on Saturday.

And while only his allies have been seen to suffer, Manyora is of the opinion that the DP has also predicted fought times for himself in the future, especially regarding his presidential bid.

"He has seen that those in power can harass your friends, there has been a bit of that. Those in power can make your life difficult, they can even jail you or even steal votes," he added.

Since the truce, Ruto has been indirectly fighting it using the people close to him but has personally appeared lukewarm with regards to his support for the same.
