Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) boss Kalonzo Musyoka has ruled out rallying behind his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) counterpart Raila Odinga again in the future.
The two ran as a pair in the 2013 and 2017 elections, with Kalonzo as Odinga's running mate, with both attempts proving futile, and Raila blaming rigging on both occasions.
Speaking on Wednesday, the former Vice President said that he is not ready to support Raila again, considering that they have twice attempted it but ended up achieving nothing.
"If you support somebody twice and he fails, would you still continue supporting him? But I don’t have any political enemy,” he said on KTN's Point Blank show, Wednesday night.
However, he noted that this does not mean that they cannot work together going forward, adding that he will be working with anyone interested in being in his camp and who believes in him.
Musyoka said that will be keen on winning the former Prime Minister's backing, but at the same time insisted that he will be crisscrossing the nation in pursuit of support as votes.
The 10th Vice President added that the politicians from his Ukambani bedrock who defected to the ruling Jubilee Party have returned, meaning that he has locked the region.
“Who would not want ‘baba’s’ support? But I don’t want to be an opportunistic leader. Wiper is growing in leaps and bounds. In fact, those who went to Jubilee from the region have come back,” he added.
However, Raila remains silent on his plans for the race, despite some forces from his camp hinting that he will be taking another shot after four futile stabs at the top seat.
