To reduce the risk of suffering from a second stroke, take note of these;

1. Don't smoke

Smoking increases the risk of suffering fro a second stroke. This is because it reduces the amount of oxygen in the blood and makes the heart to work harder. 

It also contributes to high blood pressure and respiratory illnesses which doubles the chances of stroke survivors to suffer from a second one.

2. Take note of your medication

It is important to take  the medication given as prescribed by the doctor. Avoid taking more if you aren't better or take care when you are feeling better.

3. Eat a healthy diet

Eating a balanced diet helps your body in growing healthy as well as preventing you from chronic diseases. 

Addition of fruits and vegetables in your diet helps you in lowering your blood pressure level thus reducing the risk of a second stroke.

4. Get support

Most stroke survivors live in fear of denial and frustration and this can lead to stress and depression. Getting support from friends and family members lays a great role in offering support to the stroke survivors.

5. Get active

Taking part in daily exercises is a great way of keeping the body active. Building a workout routine is an ideal way of preventing a second stroke.
