Lawyer Adams Oloo has predicted tough times for Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, who is being held over allegations of graft.
Oloo who is the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) taskforce Vice-Chair on Tuesday said that Sonko is very likely to spend the rest of his term out.
He said that the governor stands no chance of clearing his name, even if he appeals his blockage from office as his case is already on.
He termed it very likely that the county boss will be blocked from office as has happened to others caught up in similar allegations.
"Though everyone has a right to appeal, I don't see him succeeding as he already has a live case. He could spend the rest of the time out (Japo kila mtu ako na haki ya kuappeal, sioni ikienda mahali kwa sababu tayari ako na live case. Huenda akakaa nje muda uliobaki)," he said.
He made the remarks on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha on Tuesday morning.
On the other side, he defended senators who have joined Sonko's defence team, who have been under attack for defending the person they should be overseen.
According to Oloo, the senatorship of the lawmakers ends when they leave the senate, after which their legal professions take over.
"Senators are only senators in the senate, but they also have their professions; out here they are lawyers (Maseneta wanapokuwa senate hao ni maseneta. Lakini wako na professions zao, wakiwa nje wao ni mawakili)," he added.
Senators in Sonko's team include Makueni's Mutula Kilonzo (Jnr) and Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet).
