The airline company made the clarification through its Twitter handle after what it claimed to be fake reports of the incident went viral on social media.

They further urged the public to ignore the reports which were circulating on social media citing that they valued the safety of their customers.

"We confirm that none of our aircraft has had such an incident as per the fake news circulating on social media, such as this. Safety is our top priority and will not be compromised, our services proceed normally as scheduled," A tweet from Silverstone Air read.

It has however not yet been established as to what exactly sparked the fake reports which within minutes had attracted the attention of the Kenyans on Twitter.

This comes approximately a week after one of the tyres of a Silverstone Air's plane fell off mid-air compelling the plane to make an emergency landing at Eldoret International Airport.

The plane had taken off from Lodwar Airstrip in Turkana County and was headed to Nairobi with four passengers and five crew members on board when the incident happened.
