A section of Gusii leaders have backed embattled Chief Justice David Maraga, calling for truce between the Executive and the Assembly.
On Monday, Maraga came out guns blazing, accusing a section of the executive members of alleged insubordination and harassment.
Maraga decried slashing of Judiciary budget, saying that the executive is keen to paralyse operations within the third arm of government.
Majority Leader Duke Masira on Tuesday asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to find mechanisms of working with the assembly without sabotaging operations.
Masira said: " When you seen the goverment fighting, it's people who will suffer. The president should find harmonious ways of relating with the Judiciary. Maraga is a good man."
Nominated MCA George Mosiori said the continued interference of the executive in the Judiciary could make it impossible for the president to realise war against corruption.
"The war cannot survive by fighting the Judiciary. We all know Maraga means well for this nation. Executive should change tactics and respect the Judiciary," he said.
Similar sentiments were echoed by veteran Mekenene MCA Alfayo Ngeresa who reprimanded the executive of what he called 'unwarranted intimidations'.
The goverment reduced the budget from Sh14.5 billion to Sh11.5 billion, forcing Maraga to suspend sittings of Appeals Court across the country.
