The late Kibra MP Ken Okoth will be cremated in Nairobi.
According to his family members, Okoth will be cremated in a private function.
Addressing the media outside a Nairobi hotel on Wednesday, ODM leader Raila Odinga pointed out that Okoth's family have agreed on his final journey.
“Ken will be given to the family to do the rest, just like we did with Kenneth Matiba. So the family will do the rest,” said Raila.
Raila further stated that his body will be taken to his maternal family in Kasipul Kabondo constituency on Saturday. A mass will be held on Saturday at 10 am at Rateng’ Secondary School, after which his final rights will be carried out by his family.
He will then be airlifted to Nairobi for the cremation.
Okoth passed away last Friday after a long battle with cancer.
The 41-years-old legislator died from colorectal cancer at Nairobi Hospital where he had been admitted at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
His paternal family had opined that he should be buried at his father's home in Kochia, Rangwe constituency.
There had been a dispute whether would be buried or cremated.
