Speaking on Tuesday, the ally of Deputy President William Ruto based the decision on the investment they have allegedly put in the party and President Uhuru Kenyatta's leadership.

He spoke as he told off some political players whom he said are out to separate the two sides, with the intention of achieving political goals using Uhuru's position.

“The investment tumeweka kwa Rais Uhuru Kenyatta na Jubilee ni kubwa sana…Nataka niwaambie wale wa mpango wa kando ambao wanafikiria watavuna mahali hawajapanda kwamba we are not about to separate ourselves from Jubilee and Uhuru," Murkomen said during the burial of Martha Kirigo Gachagua, mother to Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua in Mathira.

This translates to: "The investment we have put in President Uhuru Kenyatta and Jubilee is too big. I want to tell those thinking that they will reap where they never sowed that we are not about to separate ourselves from Jubilee and Uhuru."

He added that similarly, they will not be giving the president an opportunity to free himself from their watch, remarking that they will always have an eye on his moves.

The Senate Majority Leader stated that the same people should also desist from attempting to lecture them on how to behave around Uhuru, as they know him more.

"Nobody can give as lectures or tell us to leave Uhuru Kenyatta alone. Even Uhuru cannot escape, if he turns we turn with him (Nobody can give us a lecture or tell us achaneni na Uhuru Kenyatta. Hata Uhuru hawezi tutoroka, akipiga kona tunapiga kona na yeye)," he added.

The remarks come amid reports that the president might use the looming constitutional changes to extend his stay in power, which would interfere with Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
