At least 4,000 delegates who were allowed to attend President Uhuru Kenyatta's Friday meeting at Sagana State Lodge were blocked from accessing the facility with a number of items.
To signify the importance of the meeting, security forces blocked delegates from entering with mobile phones, an indication of the sensitivity of the meeting.
Also, wristwatches, bangles and goggles were not allowed into the meeting which brings together leaders from Mt Kenya region.
This is to ensure no proceedings of the meeting, whose agenda remains a highly guarded secret, are recorded.
Further National government administrators such as regional and county commissioners, sub-county commissioners and chiefs were not present in the meeting where journalists were denied access.
Despite indications that Cabinet Secretaries from Mt Kenya region were supposed to attend, none of them was seen in the venue.
This is the first time President Uhuru Kenyatta is meeting Mt Kenya leaders amid bitter succession politics, which have seen the leadership split into two groups.
One group popularly known as Tanga Tanga supports DP William Ruto while the Kieleweke team has been against the Deputy President, who is keen to succeed President Uhuru.
There have been also claims by a section of leaders led by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria that President Uhuru Kenyatta has sidelined the region economically.
