Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has once again indicated that he will run for presidency come 2022.
In a tweet on Tuesday afternoon, Mutua noted that he has done great things for his county that speaks a lot about him, thus, he is ready to do the same for the whole country.
''As I have said before, with my unrivaled development track record and international exposure, I’m ready to lead Kenya after President Uhuru and turn around our economy and the welfare of our people.I urge our people and fellow leaders to walk with me in this journey,'' said Mutua.
In a series of tweets, Mutua affirmed his party's support for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report started by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.
He noted that the recommendations of the report to have a President, Deputy President, Prime Minister and two Deputy Prime Ministers is fully welcomed by his party.
Mutua noted that the BBI should also make sure that all corners of the country receive equal funds to help its people.
''We want the BBI to factor in an economic plan that will ensure that our people, from all corners of the country have money in their pockets. We want development to trickle down to the villages regardless of which government is in power,'' said Mutua.
Mutua urged his colleagues in leadership positions to always put Kenyans first before their interests as that's the main reason they were elected into those positions.
