ODM leader Raila Odinga has mourned the death of Kibra MP Ken Okoth.

In his message of condolence, Raila said that the death of the lawmaker is a big blow not only to the family but also the entire nation.  

The former Prime Minister also said that Okoth was a great man who did his best to serve the nation. 

The MP who was battling with colorectal cancer, was taken to hospital for treatment after the condition worsened at night.

"I'm deeply saddened by the passing of our MP Hon. @okothkenneth. Ken battled Cancer with unique bravery while serving his voters to the last minutes of his life. May God grant peace and strength to his family and may he Rest In Peace, Raila tweeted. 

Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, who is also the Senate Majority leader, has also sent his message of condolence to the family of the deceased. He said that Kenyans will surely miss him after the sad news broke out.

"Go well my brother Hon. Ken Okoth. You exemplified greatness. You radiated love. You were brilliant. You served your people well. You bore the burden of that monster with grace and strength. You will forever remain an inspiration to many. Fare thee well Mhesh!' Murkomen tweeted.

Okoth was undergoing treatment at Nairobi before his demise at the age of 41.
