Brain cancer is a condition where malignant tumours develop in the brain.
The cancer may originate in the brain or spread to the brain from other parts of the body. Here are three key tips to lower your risk of brain cancer or rather brain tumour:
1. Avoid exposure to certain environmental agents
Generally, your environment matters a lot as far as brain cancer is concerned. To lower your risks of developing this dangerous type of cancer, avoid areas located near manufacturing and chemical plants.
Radiation produced by such industries have been proven to increase one's likelihood of developing brain tumour. The chemicals (carcinogens) emitted in the air could also trigger tumour growth if they get into the brain.
2. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables
Vegetables can absolutely save you from this type of cancer. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables may help you reduce your risks of brain cancer. Such foods enable your body to take control of your cholesterol levels. Minimize fatty and processed foods.
3. Limit alcohol and cigarette smoking
Alcohol and cigarette smoking do not directly expose you to brain cancer, rather they increase your chances of developing liver and lung cancer. Note that liver and lung cancers may spread to the brain once they grow out of control.
