Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and eight others will on Monday return to court over corruption allegations.
Waititu is fighting to clear his name following claims that he used proxies to swindle over Sh588 million through fraudulent contracts.
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission on Monday said the governor will take defense at Milimani Law Courts.
"Hearing of a corruption case against Governor of Kiambu County Ferdinand Waititu and 12 others set to commence today before the Anti-corruption Court in Milimani," EACC said.
Waititu suffered a blow when the Appeals Court failed to overturn High Court ruling that bars state officers facing graft from accessing their offices.
On Tuesday, Waititu will also be facing the Senate following his impeachment, a move that has seen the House divided over his woes.
“There are certain people who are trying to save him because of political considerations but the Kiambu people want justice,” nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura told the Star.
The flamboyant county boss has been reduced to a busybody, often seen flowing President Uhuru Kenyatta to functions even without being recognized.
Also facing a similar fate are Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and his Samburu counterpart Moses Kasaine.
