In a tweet Wednesday, the former presidential aspirant took issue with Atandi's backing for the former Prime Minister, accusing him of even placing him above his parents.

He added that the first term lawmaker's actions show that he is not fit to lead his people as he cannot stand on his own feet but, apparently, wholly depends on another man (Raila).

"Says a cheap and an adult sycophant probably demented who believes that Raila Odinga made him, not even his parents were responsible for him, but another man. This is why the ilk of Samuel Atandi remain a disgrace to people of Alego Usonga," he said.

This was in response to Atandi's earlier bashing of his (Aukot) latest political moves, especially his ongoing push for a referendum, which he termed a relevance-seeking mission.

In an earlier tweet, Atandi termed Aukot a political novice and a busybody who cannot even scare a squirrel.

"Ekuru Aukot is a political novice. He cannot even cause a squirrel to scamper for safety. In other words, he is a busy body, fighting for relevance," he wrote.

While Aukot's push seeks to reduce the number of elective seats, Raila's camp is also pushing for a separate referendum to among others, introduce more seats in the executive arm of government.

ODM also wants a return of the abolished parliamentary governance system.
