Mutua reminded Nyoro how he asked Uhuru to declare a state of emergency in 2017 when several leaders were against his ideologies. The lawyer asked Nyoro to revisit the same before he complains about his arrest.

"In Oct 2017, MP Ndindi Nyoro wrote on Facebook that Kenyatta should scrap the Supreme Court of Kenya (SCOK), suspend the Constitution, declare a state of emergency, rule with an iron fist, and make Judiciary a department of the Executive. What’s he saying now?" he asked.

Nyoro claims his woes originate from the fact that he has not shown support for Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga in the Mt Kenya region.

The MP has maintained that no amount of intimidation will make him change tune as far as the 2022 presidential race is concerned. He has affirmed that he will stand with Deputy President William Ruto until he ascends to power.

“It is not my personal problem to sell any candidate in Mount Kenya region…These people called ‘Kieleweke’ including Maina Kamanda have always told us 'whether you like it or not, Raila is your president so you better get used to it early' (mpende msipende huyu (Raila Odinga) ndiye rais wenu muzoee mapema,” he said.
