The youthful lawmaker claims that things have shifted in the region saying that the masses are drifting towards Deputy President William Ruto.

He says that the DP has pushed Mudavadi out of his backyard, after making successful inroads, which will thwart Mudavadi's 2022 bid for the presidency.

"The Jubilee Party has locked out Musalia from Western,” the Jubilee Party lawmaker told the Star on phone, also expressing confidence that Ruto will win in 2022.

About Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i who is being rumoured to have the backing of President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga for the seat, he dared the CS.

He said that as the Ruto lieutenants, they are ready to battle it out with anyone while challenging the CS to resign and plunge into the political arena if he wants to politick.

"We are ready for 2022. We ask those seeking to run for president to publicly declare their ambitions instead of hiding behind others' coattails,” he added.

He said that as things stand now, Matiang'i appears to be using his position to harass perceived opponents.

This is despite the fact that the CS has not made any political declaration for 2022. On the other hand, Mudavadi has declared that he is going for the top seat in the much-awaited poll.
