The Kenya Meteorological Department has urged road users to be careful as heavy rains continue to pound the country.
In a tweet on Sunday, the meteorological department sent out an alert to Kenyans that they may come across floods while heading to work on Monday.
"Heading work on Monday? Take care if you will be on the roads as you may come across flooding water Meanwhile, take precautions during this heavy rainfall, " one of the cautionary tweets read.
In another tweet, the weatherman warned road users against walking, cycling or driving through flowing water.
It also urged Kenyans to stay clear of power lines and electrical wires to avoid being electrocuted.
"Do not walk or bike through flowing water. Do not drive through a flooded area. Stay away from power lines and electrical wires as electrocution might occur, " the second tweet read.
The MET department's intervention comes in the wake of torrential rains that have wreaked tragedy in various parts of the country.
About a week ago, tens of people lost their lives in West Pokot due to heavy rains.
The government has appealed to those living in areas vulnerable to floods to relocate to safe areas as they wait for the rains to subside.
