Police in Nakuru on Friday held a man suspected to have been involved in the murder of a female police officer in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu county.
The officer in question is Robina Moraa who was found murdered in her house within the outskirts of Eldoret Town on Thursday.
The officer who was stationed in Naiberi Police Station in Ainabkoi was found with several stab wounds, with the blame now falling on Joshua Ogach, a Nairobi-based businessman.
Mr Ogach was nabbed at the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital in Nakuru, where he had gone to seek medication, after what the police believe is poisoning himself.
Nakuru Town East Police Commander Elena Kabukuru confirmed the arrest, saying that the suspect aged 31 has since been handed over to Eldoret police.
"Detectives from Nakuru and their counterparts in Eldoret have arrested a suspect liked to a police officer who was killed in Eldoret," she said.
She added that the suspect was taken to the hospital while unconscious, driving the police into believing that he might have attempted suicide.
"The suspect reported at the facility while in an unconscious state. He was treated and later arrested," added the police boss.
He is likely to face murder charges.
