A section of Members of Parliament from the Gusii community who have joined Tanga Tanga team to push for Deputy President William Ruto's presidency in 2022 have been asked to decamp.
Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama protested the MPs decision to drum up support for DP Ruto instead of uniting behind Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i.
"It is time we should unite as leaders from Gusii community and push for one of our own to be at the front line and bring goodies to the community.
"We can't be supporting other leaders for years. 2022 is the right time we should be supported as well. MPs who have joined tanga tanga should exit the group immediately," said Nyagarama as reported by Minto FM.
The county boss reiterated that there is need for Gusii leaders to walk together in 2022, adding that time had come for the community to run for Presidency.
Nyagarama termed the insults being hurled at Matiang'i by Tanga Tanga MPs as retrogressive and meant to mislead members of the community.
The ODM allied Governor's remarks comes after MPs Joash Nyamoko of North Mugirango, West Mugirango lawmaker Vincent Kemosi, South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro and Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose have publicly declared support for DP Ruto in 2022 polls.
