Celebrated lawyer Otiende Amollo has taken issue with Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji over his mode of operations, amid an intensified war on corruption.
Speaking on Wednesday, the Rarieda Member of Parliament took issue with Haji for prosecuting most of his cases in the media and consequently giving giving Kenyans false hopes.
According to the counsel, Haji has not been delivering as expected when it comes to nailing the suspects in court, resulting in suspects walking away, a mockery to the graft purge.
"The DPP tends to prosecute his matters so much in the media and not in court. He raises so much expectations with the public but shies away from the court," he said.
He made the remarks in an interview with Tony Gachoka on KTN's Point Blank on Wednesday night.
B ut on the other hand, he lauded Haji's courage in pursuing corruption cases, further lauding him for being driven and repeatedly keeping Kenyans on the know on his progress.
"I don’t think he’d practiced in court prior to his appointment, which might explain why he is abit court shy. However he’s courageous, driven, and keeps the public informed," he added.
The first term parliamentarisn also stressed on the need for the nation to kill the corruption monster once and for all.
