This is according to a report by The Standard Media which also indicates that one of the two has been questioned on two occasions while the other is set to be grilled by the detectives from the DCI.

“At least two CSs are under active probe that may lead to their removal from Government through the courts if the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji agrees with the investigators. That is one of the reasons the President has to wait," a source told The Standard Media.

President Uhuru Kenyatta who is reported to be aware of the ongoing cases against the two Cabinet Secretaries on Wednesday announced Ukur Yattani who is also the Cabinet Secretary of Labour as the acting National Treasury Cabinet Secretary.

This is after the Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich was arrested and charged with corruption and abuse of office during the construction of Kimwarer and Arror dams in Elgeyo Marakwet.

The President's knowledge of the ongoing cases may have influenced his decision to select an existing CS to fill in the position at the National Treasury.
