The parliamentary committee, chaired by Pokot South MP David Pkosing, also summoned the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) and Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA).

The committee which held a press conference in Tuesday summoned them, and are expected before the committee on Friday.

“We want KCAA to tell Parliament and the country; the age and manufacture date of the two aircrafts belonging to Silverstone Air,” said MP David Pkosing as quoted by K24 Digital

This comes after Silverstone Air, privately-owned airline, has been on the news thrice in less than a month for causing accidents.

The committee wants the bodies to explain to them the status, safety and the last time Silverstone planes were inspected for air safety and who did the inspection.

Pkosing noted that most Kenyans travel from Wilson Airport where Silverstone Air operates their planes from.

“Most Kenyans travel via Wilson Airport to various destinations. We need KCAA to tell us by way of chronology, the age of aircrafts operated by local airlines from the Wilson Airport,” he said as quoted by K24 Digital.

On Monday, a plane belonging to Silverstone Air made an emergency landing at Eldoret International Airport after one of its rare tires fell off.
