Mr George Morara, the Kemera MCA, was left stranded after his ex-wife Janet Omwamba served him with court order stopping his union with the second wife on Friday.

The drama at Kerongo Catholic Church left visitors struggling to come to terms as several MCAs stared in disbelief.

Morara was formalising his union with Pamela Morara, with who he has been staying together with for the last 17 years.

In replying affidavits from Ochoki and Co Advocates, Morara accuses the first wife of insincerity over their failed marriage.

"The said date of the marriage certificate with the plaintiff reads 9/4/2000, which was on a Sunday when the government does not work. The certificate is a product of forgery," he says.

The MCA, who is serving his first term on Wiper ticket, argues that the first wife was taking advantage of his hard-gained wealth.

"When she deserted our cohabitation, she had been employed as a teacher and I was a mere hawker. I had not accumulated any wealth," he says in the court documents.

The Ward Representative now wants the court to throw out the petition, arguing that any attempts to admit it will amount to "forcing me to marry an opportunist".

Symphie Makila, the presiding Magistrate, has set aside December 18th for mentioning of the case.

Morara accuses his political competitors of working with the estranged former girlfriend to ridicule and embarrass him.
