Veteran opposition and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader descended on Kibra constituency to campaign for Imran Okoth as the campaigns for the constituency's parliamentary race enter homestretch.
Mr Odinga called on the residents to cast their votes for Imran so that certain projects that continue.
He told the cheering locals that a vote for Imran was a vote for Raila.
"You see this young man, if you vote for him you vote for me. If you don't want to vote for Imran, vote for me. (Unaona huyu kijana, ukimpigia yeye, unampigia baba. Kama humpigi Imran, pigia baba), " Raila Odinga said. (2:28-2:39)
Mr Odinga's presence in Kibra to directly campaign for the ODM candidate underscores the high stakes that the parliamentary race carries for the former prime minister.
Political observers have been following keenly the developments in Kibra.
It is not just a matter of a victory for the ODM candidate but also how many votes with which he will win.
Kibra constituency is a stronghold of the ODM party having been represented by Raila Odinga when it was still part of the larger Langata constituency.
The seat was declared vacant by the speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi after the death of the late former member of parliament Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer.
