Garissa Township legislator Aden Duale seems to be enjoying the parliamentary recess after retreating to his native homeland, Libahlow, Balambala Constituency within Garissa County.
He took to Twitter on Sunday to show his camel farm which is located in the area.
The MP also expressed his gratitude to God who had brought rainfall that resulted in plenty of pasture for animals to feed.
"This is the best time for the pastoralist community after the Almighty God opened up the skies, hence plenty of pasture and water to fatten and grow the herd. Plenty of fresh milk and meat is found in every homestead," he tweeted.
Duale who is also the National Assembly Leady of Majority also gave some facts about camel that makes him to love them.
Here are some of the basic facts as listed in several tweets;
1. Camel pee can be as thick as syrup because they retain water.
2. Its milk is lower in fat and sugar than the cow’s milk.
3. A camel’s hump does not store water, it stores fat.
4. Camels have a double row of long, curly eyelashes to keep out sand and dust.
5. Camels can drink up to 40 gallons of water at a time.
6. One reason camels can go so long without water is because their red blood cells are oval-shaped. They flow, rather than clump, when the camel is dehydrated.
7. Camel’s don’t start sweating until 41 degrees Celsius.
8. Camels can go for up to two months without water.
9. Camels can kick in all four directions with all four of their legs.
