Political commentator Mutahi Ngunyi has now come out to defend President Uhuru Kenyatta's visit to Jamaica next week.
In a tweet on Tuesday evening, the political analyst maintained that Uhuru will be going to Jamaica for serious business.
He revisited the need to legalize bang in Kenya, adding that bhang popularly known as weed is a good medicine for cancer.
"WHY do Kenyans THINK that everyone going to JAMAICA is going there to 'DRINK' Bangi? Uhuru is LUCKY he has SERIOUS business to do in Jamaica beside looking for GOOD WEED! But weed is good medicine for CANCER. My FRIEND Ken OKOTH left a Bill in Parliament to LEGALIZE it," he said.
His sentiments came moments after State House announced that Uhuru will be visiting Jamaica following an invitation by Jamaican Prime Minister The Most Honourable Andrew Holnes.
Following the announcement, a section of Kenyans claimed that the Head of State has been invited to go and smoke weed in Jamaica.
Ngunyi, however, rubbished the claims stating that President Kenyatta will be visiting Jamaica on official duty and not leisure.
The analyst's remarks come at a time when cancer is killing a lot of people in Kenya.
In July the country lost three top leaders namely; Bob Collymore, Ken Okoth, and Joyce Laboso among many other Kenyans to the deadly disease.
