Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago has promised Kesses residents that he will ensure proper roads are put in place on time.
Speaking on Tuesday in Bindura location, the County boss appealed to the contractors to ensure they install proper roads and on time.
"The culverts and drains should be placed well, the right size of culverts is important too, as all these are responsible for channelling water away from the road surface. We have specialized grading and compacting equipment and ideally, what we want as a final product is a smooth, uniform surface that can handle heavy loads and harsh weather without breaking up, "stated Mandago as recorded in the County's Facebook Page.
The Governor promised the contractors full support as they work to put up in place quality roads.
"I want to see all the necessary machinery on the ground so that this work is delivered on time to enable us to move to other sub-counties during this dry season," Mandago noted.
On his part Chief Officer for Roads, Transport and Public Works, Eng. Barnabas Too urged stakeholders to maintain teamwork.
"Teamwork is essential as we carry on. As a department, we are all here to see that the work is done to precision," stated Too.
One of the residents, Mzee Shadrack Mutai, thanked the Governor for his continued support.
" I have never seen such kind of work done in our ward. Thank you Mandago for the roadworks that you have done. The materials and machinery on site are exceptional," said Mr Mutai.
