Political analyst Ambrose Weda has observed that the ongoing tussle in former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's family is most likely all about the money and assets at risk.
Raila's wife Ida Odinga and his daughter Winnie Odinga have since moved to court to prevent Lwam Bekele, widow to Raila's son Fidel Odinga, from administering his estate.
In their arguement, Bekele has failed to include Fidel's alleged illegitimate twins in the list of beneficiaries, and also sought to take over the estate without their knowledge.
But Weda now says that the fight could be having a deeper meaning, adding that its possible that Ida and Winnie have special interest in the wealth left behind by Fidel.
Speaking as a lawyer, Weda who is an advocate of the High Court stated that its possible that the family had placed some assets under Fidel's name, and fear that Lwam will take it with the other portion of the inheritance.
"What I suspect is that the family might have kept some money and assets in his (Fidel) name, and the lace wants to sweep all of it," he said on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation on Wednesday morning.
However, he warned that the case should have been handled quietly, as it has the potential to soil the reputation of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader.
Also, he stressed on the need for the family to carry itself with decency, and get a better way of solving the issue, advising that it should not relegate itself before Kenyans over money.
"We should never do all this for the sake of money," he added.
