The lorry, which is among the two purchased by Governor James Ongwae's administration, is parked along Gusii Stadium perimeter wall, near Nyanchwa.

Surprisingly, despite costing taxpayers millions, the vehicle has been turned into dumping site by residents using the route, it has been confirmed.

Daniel Kerunda, who lives along the route, told this writer that the vehicle was parked at the site three months ago. Since then, no efforts have been made to repair it.

"It was parked here over three months ago. It had some garbage but residents have also turned it to a dumping site. It's even stinking now," he said.

A teacher in one of the surrounding schools also complained about the vehicle, claiming that it causes health risks to pupils who play around with it.

"We have in several accessions chased them from here. Many of these students play around and risk contracting diseases. It's something that is worrying us," the teacher said.

Governor Ongwae invested in garbage collection trucks when residents raised alarm over poor dumping plan within Kisii town and envrons when he took over in 2013.

In his legacy, Ongwae has identified environment, health, infrastructure and agriculture as some of the areas his administration is working on before 2022.

Until the time of going to the press, efforts to reach Municipality Director Mengo Ochuang' did not succeed since he could not answer calls.
