A total of 40 politicians are set to dump Cord for the newly formed Jubilee Party.
35 lawmakers and five governors who belong to parties affiliated to Raila Odinga’s Cord are expected to join the merger during its launch this Saturday.
The Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale said they want to ensure that Jubilee Party belongs to all Kenyans.
"We will have about five governors and 35 MPs from the Cord coalition and other smaller parties who will join us. The launch will be the beginning of a united Kenya," said Duale.
The Garissa Township MP said Jubilee Party will welcome Governors Salim Mvurya (ODM Kwale), Hussein Dado, (Wiper Tana River), Issa Timamy (UDF Lamu), Simon Kachapin, (Kanu West Pokot) and Ukur Yatani (ODM (Marsabit).
About 13 registered political parties are expected to dissolve and merge.
The launch of Jubilee Party will take place at the Kasarani Stadium.
Meru Senator Kiraitu Muringi said the launch will cost not less than Sh300 million.
